Our story

Good Information Management should be easier to put into practice.

Aventa grew from firsthand experience of the gap between knowing how information should be managed and making it happen consistently on real projects.

The ambition is simple: turn specialist knowledge into a clear, connected way of working, with better quality, greater consistency and less repetitive effort.

Why Aventa exists

The knowledge exists. Applying it consistently is the challenge.

The last project becomes the template

Requirements and responses are copied forward, carrying old assumptions into a new project. Teams can spend time producing information that was never needed, then spend more time correcting it.

The method lives in someone’s head

Good processes exist on paper or depend on experienced specialists. Two capable people can receive the same brief and take different routes, with different outcomes.

Information Management starts too late

When the work is seen as expensive and time-consuming, it becomes an afterthought. Gaps in context, responsibilities and evidence become harder to resolve as the project moves on.

Nathan Manning, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aventa

Meet the founder

From designing the detail to connecting the whole.

Nathan’s career spans hands-on architectural design, multidisciplinary BIM delivery, consultancy and national leadership, with experience across education, healthcare, residential, commercial and regulated environments. Aventa brings that practical and strategic perspective into software.

Nathan is Aventa’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer. As its sole founder, he combines product direction and software development with firsthand industry experience. The platform is shaped by the problems he has worked on and the people who face them every day.

  1. A practical beginning

Nathan started in architectural cast stone and precast concrete, estimating quotations before designing decorative products. It was an introduction to the relationship between design intent, technical detail and the work needed to deliver it.

  2. Design, study and live projects

An HND in Architectural Design and Technology led to a first-class BSc (Hons) at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Alongside his final year, Nathan joined Arup as a BIM Modeller, developing the modelling and authoring skills that shaped the next stage of his career.

  3. From delivery to national leadership

Architectural technology roles led into BIM coordination, management and consultancy. At AtkinsRéalis, Nathan progressed from regional BIM leadership to National BIM Lead, supporting standards, training and digital delivery across the practice.

  4. Bringing practice into software

A postgraduate diploma in BIM and the Digital Built Environment at the University of Salford, followed by study in artificial intelligence and software development, brought together domain expertise, strategic thinking and the ability to build technology around a defined problem.

  5. Project experience

    Part of award-winning delivery.

Nathan helped deliver Haverfordwest High School, contributing BIM and Information Management expertise to a project recognised for collaboration, health and safety, and overall project delivery. It is one example of the practical experience behind Aventa’s focus on quality, assurance and coordinated working.

Experience translated into action

Understanding the work. Defining the problem. Building a better approach.

Nathan has supported common data environment deployment tools, Information Delivery Planning, Health and Safety Using BIM workflows, and training and technology strategies. His software work spans sporting events management and the architecture, engineering, construction and operations sector.

That combination matters: Aventa’s direction is informed by how people design, coordinate, manage and use information—not just by what technology can generate.

Where we are heading

A connected platform across the life of a project.

The long-term ambition is to carry the same discipline from early requirements through delivery, assurance and the information needed to operate assets.

The themes below describe our development direction, not a list of features available today. Scope and availability will evolve as capabilities are developed and verified.

Connected delivery

Develop the links between project information, evidence, deliverables, collaboration and controlled publication.

Broader assurance

Extend how teams review information, understand project risk and learn from the work they have completed.

A wider information lifecycle

Build towards native common data environment capabilities, model information, asset information and connections with other delivery systems.
